Hey everyone! So the book launch party was a huge success, and I am still glowing from all the love and support I felt that night. My husband took some great pictures, and I thought it would be fun to share them with you all.
It’s pretty cool seeing your name in lights for the first time… (Notice how there is a water tower in the background. Yes, I live in small town California. Just across the street from this book store, there is a rodeo fairground. And yes, I just attended a party there last weekend. It was bomb.)
And also very cool to see your book cover on a cake! (The cake was very tasty, too!) HBE Publishing really went all out.
I was so nervous to speak, and angsted about it all the week prior, but guess what? It was no big deal. Actually, I think I kind of rocked it.
Luckily I had my literary fairy godmother, the fabulous Bonnie Hearn Hill there to introduce me. What she said brought tears to my eyes. She is awesome.
Book signing time. This part was so fun! Seeing all my friends who came to support me! (Hi Alisa and Nate!)
Hi Stacy and Melanie! (Guys, Stacy is my niece and a writer as well, and has her own book (cozy mystery) coming out in 2016! Check her out!)
Hi my fun and fabulous book club! (Who chose my book as their October pick–aren’t they the sweetest? And gorgeous, too.)
Wow! This amazing lady was my client years ago…so great to see some of my adoption peeps who came out for the event. My AspiraNet supervisor and co-worker, JulieAnn also came all the way from Visalia, but sadly Matt didn’t grab a picture with her. It was so great that she came.
Um, the line went on for two and a half hours, and I signed the entire time. It was so cool, so humbling.
Grant, cover-model extraordinaire was signing too! Because, you know, he’s famous now.
Some of Grant’s friends, aka fan club (and my daughter Kateri, looking lovely in the white and pink dress.)
My sister-in-law Cindy!
My sister-in-law Christine on the left, always one of my biggest supporters, and our friend Greg on the right.
I wish we could have captured pictures of everyone who was there that night, but I am grateful for all of you. As I said in my speech, writing by its very nature is a very lonely business and to have people take the time to celebrate all the work you have put into your book.
Last but not least, this cute guy is my husband Matt, who has supported me with this writing this every step of the way. Love you!
